Ps Isaac sibkl 9/6/19 matthew series Do u trust God, the Father. Gist: whatever u do, Only for one audience (Live for the audience of one) Matthew 6:33 Seek - Single minded Undivided. One focus Kingdom - kingship, Rule, power of Jesus. Righteousness- TO SEEK GOD Is when your heart is “undivided for JESUS” single minded, Living for Him. Seek God. What position will u play in his kingdom? Our purpose in the kingdom He will give everything u need to accomplish your purpose. How do we seek God? We measure our heart for God thru our obedience. Who u obey is who your God is. Do Not Worry 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own 1. What does it mean to worry? 5 things ppl worried about - money job or future (security) - children / family - r/ships - health - getting old /dying What is worry? Something may go wrong in our life. What’s mean to be worrying? Is when your heart has divided loyalties bcoz u seek your own selfish desires. Anxious, Distracted Divided Is your heart divided of the things of the world. God or mammon (put trust in something else from Jesus) Matthew 5:17-48 (table) What is the condition of your heart? Matthew 6:1-18 Theme, don’t, do, God our Father - giving - blow - trumpet - secret -father sees - Praying public private Father Hears (1 audience) - Prayer babble to ppl talk to father Father knows - Fasting look sad looks happy Father speaks - treasure store on earth in heaven Father keeps - worry don’t worry seek God Father Gives Rebuking Pharisee for seeking the approval of man U only leave your life for one audience, person, “God” What does your heart seek? Does your heart seek for approval of man or God??
