Personal prayer

Father God, thank You for having chosen me in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in Your sight. In response to Your loving kindness and mercy, I surrender myself to You to be Your living sacrifice – to live in holiness and righteousness, delighting in bringing pleasure to Your heart. Lord, I repent and do not want to conform to the ways of this world – imitating its values, ideals, opinions and culture. Lord, I yield to Your Spirit to convict me and cleanse my mind from every prideful and ungodly presumptuous thoughts which exalt itself against the knowledge of You. Lord, I bring every thought and imagination to yield in obedience to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Lord, I repent of every “I, me and myself– centredness”, unforgiveness, bitter envy, jealousy, greed and pride in my heart. Lord, I ask that I be rooted and established in Your love so that I am in You and You are in me. Empower me with Your love to love my neighbours. Lord, I thank You for the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse my conscience from acts that lead to death, so that I may serve You. Lord, I now invite Your presence to saturate my heart and my home as I consecrate this time to You.

Family covering prayer

Lord, I thank you for my family and I present them to You. Lord, I pray that no weapon formed against my family will prosper. No plot or scheme of the enemy will divide us or cause dissension in our home. Let Your love which covers a multitude of sins enable us to honour one another so that the enemy does not have any foothold in our lives. Help us preserve good and loving relationships and guard our home so that it will have a peaceful atmosphere. Let Your glory fill us so that we can be good testimonies to Your name and so that unsaved family members will come to know and receive You as their personal Lord and Savior. Lord, I pray for Your protection upon my family from all sicknesses, accidents and calamities. Where there is sickness, send forth Your Word and let Your healing power bring healing to the body. Where there are anxieties leading to depression, let Your perfect love cast out all fear and Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Lord, deliver us from the evil one. Thank You for commanding Your angels charge over us and lifting us up so that we do not strike our foot against a stone. Thank You for Your firewall of protection that surrounds my family. I plead for the precious blood of Jesus to cover, cleanse and sanctify us. We put on Your full armour so that we can take our stand. I commit my family to You, Lord Almighty, to keep us safe from any form of evil and deception. Thank You that we who put our trust in You will not be put to shame. In Jesus’ name I pray and ask. Amen.
