Soap 28/2/23 Genesis 31
Genesis 31:5-7
5He said to them, “I have noticed that your father’s attitude toward me has changed. But the God of my father has been with me. 6You know how hard I have worked for your father, 7but he has cheated me, changing my wages ten times.
Observation: We read that Jacob was cheated by Laban not just on the wages but also the daughter Rachel that Jacob worked for 7 yrs and ending up with Leah, which Jacob gotto work anor addn 7 yrs to get the lover of his heart Rachel. No doubt we have observed that the Lord was with Jacob and prosper him when he works for Laban and also the spotted speckled sheep was increasingly and multiplied. bUT God has allowed that Jacob be cheated 2x, why is that so...(even the lord was with him n prosper him), it gotta do likely to the previous incident where Jacob steal his bro Esau birthright and also cheat his father Isaac for his blessings before he died. It reveal the consequences of sins/wrongdoing. the sowing n reaping principle at work. Sin has its consequence even though it was past, & we are forgiven. Although we are children of and deeply love and our God is generously and gracious to bless us, at the same time, we are too responsible for our wrongdoing and the consequences.
application:
therefore we need to live a faithful & blameless life, according to His way, to obey His Word and allow him to direct us. Its only when we follow his Way, His Truth we see the Blessings of God in abundant in every area of our life and it adds no trouble to it.
Pray: Help me O father God, to read your word, meditate and bind into my heart that i can draw ur word in my daily walk in obedience to Your Way your Will in Jesus name, amen
