““Joseph is a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a spring; Its branches run over a wall. The archers bitterly attacked him, And shot at him and harassed him; But his bow remained firm, And his arms were agile, From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob (From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel), From the God of your father who helps you, And by the Almighty who blesses you With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb. Overflow to his 2 sons. At the same time, his life is not a bait of roses, he too face lots of challenges & persecution but he triumphed over all by the grace of God & the beauty or key word I find here is “the Lord was with him” thru out his life to strengthen and help him. It also show that he serve a Covenanted God. God of Abraham Isaac Jacob and now Joseph. We can see The promise of. Abraham blessings flows thru the generations. Application: though Joseph under attack, persecution yet I see he remain strong and trusted the Lord. He never ask why God, why ….! He wasn’t drown by persecution n fear but persevere thru his trial. One thing I can also see that he remained faithful during good and bad times. He’s a good example for us. A: I too must remember to anchor on God thru all circumstances and when faced trial like Joseph trusting him and remain faithful like Joseph. The key word is Immanuel, “God is with us”
